Move that Elephant!

One day not too long ago the employees of a large company in St. Louis,
Missouri returned from their lunch break and were greeted with a sign on the
front door. The sign said: "Yesterday the person who has been hindering
your growth in this company passed away. We invite you to join the funeral."
At first everyone was sad to hear that one of their colleagues had died, but
after a while they started getting curious about who this person might be. The
excitement grew as the employees arrived to pay their last respects. Everyone
wondered: "Who is this person who was hindering my progress? Well, at
least they are no longer here!" One by one the employees got closer to the
coffin and when they looked inside it they suddenly became speechless. They
stood over the coffin, shocked and in silence, as if someone had touched the
deepest part of their soul. There was a mirror inside the coffin: everyone who
looked inside it could see himself. There was also a sign next to the mirror
that said: "There is only one person who is capable to set limits to your
growth: it is YOU.

This Faith Friday is about moving the Elephant of your life, moving the hinderances and those things that set you back so that you can continue growing. You are the only person who can
revolutionize your life. You are the only person who can influence your happiness, your realization and your success. You are the only person who can help yourself. Your life does not change when your boss changes, when your friends change, when your parents change, when your partner changes, when your company changes. Your life changes when YOU change, when you go beyond your limiting beliefs, when you realize that you are the only one responsible for
your life. During this past year after experiencing many shipwrecks, the loss of close friends, disconnects from family I found that the most important relationship you can have is the one you have with yourself.

The scripture says Gal 5:7 Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth?
Paul is comparing our pursuit for God to a runner in a race. The race that he is describing is a marathon; not a 100 yard dash. If the runner is going to win his race, there has to be total concentration on only one thing; the Finish Line.

The word "hinder" here is talking about "being pushed back". Paul is
saying, don’t allow anything to get in your path that will slow you down or
push you back from the prize that you are running for. We too need
to keep our focus on our goal, Jesus Christ; who is the author and Finisher of
our faith. He is encouraging us to keep running forward. Keep "...pressing
toward the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus." (Php 3:14)

Don't allow anything to hinder you today from moving forward toward what God
has planned for your life. Every direction there will be distraction and
hinderances that will try to slow you down, or turn you around. Yet before you
is Gods best for your life. MOVE that elephant and Move FORWARD!

One sure way to get started is communicating with God. He is our HELP! Pray daily. Prayer is simply talking to God. You don’t have to use big fancy words. There are no right and wrong words. Just be yourself. Give thanks to the Lord daily for your salvation. Pray for others in need. Pray for direction. Pray for the Lord to fill you daily with His Holy Spirit. There is
no limit to prayer. You can pray with your eyes closed or open, while sitting
or standing, kneeling or lying on your bed, anywhere, anytime. So begin to make
prayer a part of your daily routine.

I pray you enjoyed this read. Encourage a friend to follow along or submit their email
address for them. I love you!
